End Week of February 2024

Me and le boyfie's first concert in 2024.

Hello Ed Sheeran! You're my first concert in 2024!
Welcome to my beautiful country, Malaysia!

Event: Ed Sheeran's The Mathematics Tour 2024
+–=÷× Tour

Bought the ticket in October 2023 secretly after reach home from work and to surprised my boyfie (He's not a fan, but is excited to go to live concert for the first time). I squeaked after hit the "checkout" button. πŸ˜‚ (With Melissa's evil convincing tone)  Lol~ It's my first time going for a live performance. A live show! A live concert! Are you kidding me? - says the thirtee-wan year old lady. Who cares if it's first time? To me, it is definitely a life-time goal in my 2024 list. Considered one of the best moment in my life. This is a feeling of anyone who yet to attend a live concert. It's not like there's another time, but I am at my before-I-move-for-the-next-step moment. So this is the great opportunity for me to experience something new.

The concert was held on 24th February 2024 (Saturday)
our agenda:

3pm: Everyone gathered at our place and we go together in 1 car for the concert plan.

4pm: Late lunch at Grafa's Restaurant (PJ). Food was delicious and I love the environment. Good privacy where not many people came here to dine in.

5.30pm: Arrived Bukit Jalil Stadium. We parked randomly at a nearby school area. However....It was raining as we stepped out from the car. (Luckily we bought raincoats)

Melissa was laughing so damn hard πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† while all of us are wearing raincoat, crossing the road, walking to the main gate while soaking wet. I can't stop laughing either and I was laughing while walking like a drunk person. My hair and cardigan sleeve were wet, so my boyfie exchanged his raincoat to help cover my sleeve (His one is long sleeve). Thank you dear ~ 😘At the same time, I noticed a policemen arrested a man at the roadside. It looks like a thief has caught red-handed. I developed an insecure feeling when our car passed by the same man was doing some "odd activity" behind a stranger's car. 😨It looks like he is trying to take this chance to dig in since is a concert day. Taking advantage on a big day event. Somehow, the policemen arrested him right on the spot..Hmmm~

6.30pm: Survived after a small error of the QR code. The ticket team asked to go at the Axiata Arena's counter to print out hardcopy of the QR code tickets.

I was actually quite mad at the ticket person for unable to handle the situation...Some old auntyπŸ˜“ asked me to log in the website and click the given link to look for the QR code. I told her I only have the QR code in PDF which was given in the Go Live App and then I asked "Why cannot scan ah? I buy last year tau..." She still insisted me to look for the link in the website...WTF?!πŸ˜’πŸ’’  The line was terrible and I failed to download the link...πŸ˜’

A young man then came and explained with a precise instruction after I asked "What you want me to do if my QR code is unable to scan and why is it like this? Error??" The young man said, "I believe is a tecnical error due to the code scanner machine, perhaps you may go at the Axiata Arena counter and asked for a hardcopy QR ticket." Simple as that, me and le boyfie soaked in rain (even with raincoat) walked slowly to Axiata Arena. In 10 minutes, boyfie go to the loo while I get my hardcopy QR tickets and the kind ticket lady reminded me to not let the ticket get wet due to raining. Thank you so much!

*Melissa and her boyfie waited for us until we managed to get in the gates. Loving my younger sister so much. Terharu~πŸ’–πŸ˜

After we successfully scanned our tickets, we walked around and founded a few booth selling snacks. Some are yogurt, ice cream, soda drinks and etc. We skipped the booth and walked straight into the stadium. Lucky we have our own water bottle and we ate heavy late-lunch before the concert.

7.30pm: Enter the Stadium

The moment I entered the stadium, I rubbed my eyes and stared at the stadium from the outside. There I witnessed a centre-stage installed in the middle of the stadium. Having a disbelief moment, I told my boyfie, "We made it! Our first concert ever." And he smiled. Still can't believe how huge Bukit Jalil Stadium is and here I am going to witnessed Ed Sheeran live with my boyfie, my sister and her boyfie together. Could have experience it earlier but I was unaware/unreachable to their advertisement of the constant concert updates. If I knew earlier, I would have enjoyed it in my twenties....Is ok to be the first time in everything new as age doesn't matters. Social Media is really a networking tool in everything.

8pm: Special Guest Apperance ~ Calum Scott.

He had a lovely voice and amazingly talented singer. He performs from 8pm until 8.45pm. (At the same time, I noticed people are still queuing outside to enter the stadium. Definitely something's wrong with the ticketing counter. I discovered his famous song "You are the Reason" when he sang wholeheartedly on stage. He ended his song with "You are My Reason" and everyone cheer happily~. Awesome live performance. Calum Scott is definitely in my spotify list.

9pm: Ed Sheeran on stage - Like he's in Malaysia for real wei!!!!

I can't listed down all the songs he sang but I know some of it.

- Tide
- Perfect
- Don't
- Shape of You
- Photograph
- Thinking Out Loud
- Shivers
- Tenerife Sea (My favourite song after I discovered Naomi and Benjamin Kheng's live performance in ig).

And some of the song's...

11.20pm: Finished concert with Fireworks. Like we have fireworks~!!!

We ended up stuck about 20 minutes jam after we entered the car. While walking out to the main gate, I noticed a lot of people travelled via LRT. (I almost advice to use this way to concert to avoid traffic jam, but luckily we decided to park at a nearby school area...It was a last minute plan, but still it works. ~ Alhamdulillah.

I want to say thanks for making our evening a memorable night

And I am so grateful to witnessed a live performance for the first time in my early thirtee's!

Thank you so much ~πŸ’–

Fun fact: We reached home at 1am and supposed straight to bed after a quick warm shower (raining weather). But suddenly.... Melissa knocked my door and invited me a late supper of maggie curry cause "I'm hungry~" That xiao mei mei tone during kebuluran after concert hit me as well. πŸ˜† We ended our day with late supper and slept at 2am.
